All you should know about TRCN Exam; as well as TRCN past questions and answers.
First, you'll need to have education qualification background in order to be able to attempt the TRCN exam questions.
There are different fees for different cadre; so you may want to get to TRCN website to get the monetary implication for enrollment.
Let's use the Bsc as a case study. Assume you had a Bsc of B(whatever) in your tertiary education; or an HND, you'll need to possess a postgraduate credential in education to be eligible.
This means that you won't be eligible even if you have a first class in a non educational course.
To earn a TRCN membership, you'll need to write a PQE (professional qualification exam) which is a CBT of 60 OBJ questions cutting across all education curriculum.
Registering for the PQE is nothing serious parse.
First, you are to decide on which diet you wish to sit for. Examination comes up multiple times annually.
Second, you are to complete a registration process depending on your cadre of qualification (NCE, Bachelor degrees, Msc, PhD etc). The least qualification as I've said to be eligible to write the TRCN PQE exam is NCE.
Otherwise, you'll need to enrol for a one year PGDE credential program at a recognized institution (maybe NTI or NOUN).
In a nutshell, the registration depend on the education category;
Group A = PhD cadre
Group B = Masters cadre
Group C = B.Ed/B.Sc + PGDE cadre
Group D = NCE cadre
To register, the total package should be around ₦12k plus; but depending on your qualification as shown above;
👉Reg fee for exam = ₦3500
👉Certificate after passing the PQE = ₦3000
👉Practice License = ₦6000
(ie. ₦2k for a year but you're going to pay a cumulative fee of ₦6k for 3years)...after which your licence will expire and due for another 3yrs renewal.
You should also note that for each of these payments, you'll be charged by the Remitta platform for service fees...so you might end up needing to add some tokens to the actual moneys to be paid to cater for the service fee
Let's take fir an instance, if you are a B.Sc + PGDE holder already, you will have to pay a Remita sum of ₦3k (plus) at any of your choice commercial bank for registration.
Nothing to worry about as regards how much Remitta will charge you, the moment you type in the amount you want to pay (which is dependent on whether it is for registration, certificate or licence), the Remitta platform will automatically display their service fee which you'll add to the net payment.
This means that before you visit the bank (in order not to waste your time on long queues, you must have generated an RRR remita number online (remita dot org) stating the due amount you are to pay for your cadre.
This RRR Remitta number is the code generated per transaction you make on the 'remitta[dot]org' platform. Hence, for each money paid for, the Remitta platform will generate a code (ie. RRR number) for that transaction.
(Hint: For sake of ease, you can access Remitta on your android phone; on your laptop or from any nearby cyber cafe.)
You can then head to the bank and speak with the Tellers behind the counter and give the attendant your RRR number for the transaction.
The RRR number is hardcoded such that once the teller attendant slot in your RRR code into the system at the bank, the will know the transaction it is meant for and the amount you've declared.
If nothing goes wrong, you should cleared from the bank and given your registration number as printout.
If you follow this write up from beginning judiciously, everything should work well; and the entire process should be seamless.
Now, after your engagement at the bank, you are to take your bank teller (which is your evidence of bank payment) to any TRCN office around you for completion of registration process.
The process at the TRCN office is still very much manual as at the time I update this write up. It simply involves filling a hard-copy form at the TRCN office.
Remember, at the bank, the first question you'll be asked is if you've generated your RRR; likewise at the TRCN office, the first thing they'll demand from you is your bank teller showing the paid amount for the PQE exam.
But ensure that you visit their (ie. the TRCN) office with payment teller; as well as your credentials (to confirm your eligibility).
Other requirements in addition to the correct certificates discussed above are your certificate of marriage (if a woman and married), change of name evidence, birth certificate, state of origin certificate, NYSC certificate, SSCE result, degree credentials etc.
After registration at the TRCN office, you will be asked to give your WhatsApp number as a medium to get follow up messages.
This means that if you change this line or no longer use the line or supplied wrong digits, you might end up not receiving heads-up messages to know when exam will be coming up.
It is still the same avenue that you'll be notified if your certificate is ready for collection.
I do advise prospective candidates to exchange numbers at the TRCN venue if you're lucky to meet someone that will equally be writing same diet with you - this is in case of eventuality.
Your exam slip would be given to you immediately after confirming your payment for exam at the TRCN office...and after screening all your required credentials.
For screening, I have heard several cases of rejection of those not having at least statement of results. You might receive any invitation to write the PQE if your vital results are still in-view or if all you have is letter of attestation.
All things being equal, only your exam slip will be required before entering your exam hall
